I have had the NPS 45 with the add-on hopper now for about 2 months. At first I tried to use a thermostat but it would never fire back up after shutting down so I have been running it manual mode constantly. It seems to burn through pellets very fast. I noticed the NPS40 uses dial-type controls instead of the panel membrane switches. Is there any way I could replace with those type of controls?
It seems like you should contact the dealer and see if it is still under warranty. They will be able to help you with that problem.
